How good is your customer proof, really?

Enter your domain. We'll find your case studies and score them against 954 other B2B software companies — a number, a named customer, a quote, and how fresh they are.

We'll read your homepage navigation and measure your published case studies. Nothing is changed on your site.

Picking your category compares you against similar companies where we have the data; otherwise we use the full sample.

What the audit actually measures

Written stories found

39% of the companies we measured have no written case study: 21.5% have no customer proof of any kind, and 17.5% have video testimonials only, nothing written or searchable.

A quantified result

A story that states what actually got better — a percentage, a multiple, a before/after number. 10.7% of companies with case studies don't have one in any of them.

A named customer

A real company name, not “a customer of ours.” 84.8% of companies with case studies clearly name at least one customer.

A direct quote & freshness

The customer's own words, verbatim — and how recently the newest story was published. Median newest story: 9.9 months old.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does the Customer Proof Audit check?

It reads your homepage navigation and common proof-page slugs to find your customer stories, then measures up to 5 of them for four things: whether the story states a quantified result, whether it clearly names the customer, whether it includes a direct quote in the customer's own words, and how recently it was published. It compares each against the StoryVoice Customer Proof Index — the same measurements taken across 1,000 B2B software companies.

Is this really free? Do I need to sign up?

Yes, free, and no signup or email required to see your score. There's an optional "email me the full report" box after your scorecard if you want a copy, but it's opt-in. Fair-use limits (2 audits per 10 minutes, 8 per day, per visitor) keep it fast for everyone.

What is the Customer Proof Index?

StoryVoice's own research crawl of 954 B2B software companies (from SaaSHub's category listings across 55 categories), measured 2026-08-21 with the exact same method this tool runs on your site. 39% had no written case study (no proof at all, or video only); among the companies that did, 84.8% clearly named the customer and 83.6% included a direct quote.

Why did my score come back low even though I have case studies?

Having case studies and having ones that convert are different things. The most common gaps we see: no quantified result (a story that never says what got better, by how much), an anonymous "a customer of ours" instead of a named company, no verbatim quote, or a newest story that's over a year old. The scorecard's "what to fix first" list is ordered by which gap is costing you the most.

Does the audit change anything on my website?

No. It only reads publicly-available pages the same way a search engine or a prospect's browser would — no login, no write access, nothing installed. We respect your robots.txt.

My site uses a lot of client-side JavaScript — will it still work?

The crawler reads raw HTML, same as most search engines and AI crawlers. A case study page that renders its content entirely client-side (common with some headless-CMS setups) may look empty to the audit even though a human sees it fine — if your score looks wrong for that reason, that's itself worth knowing, since it means the same content is likely invisible to Google and ChatGPT too.

Low score? The gap is usually the interview, not the writing.

Send a link. They talk for 5 minutes. The case study writes itself.

StoryVoice runs the voice interview, asks the follow-ups, computes the headline metric from what your customer says, names them, pulls the quote, and gets their sign-off before anything goes live.
