Best Testimonial Software in 2026: 7 Tools Compared on What You Actually Get Out

Testimonial software collects what a customer types into a form or records on camera. We compared seven tools with live pricing and G2 counts, and sorted them by the output: a widget, a video, or a written story a buyer can read.

The short answer: testimonial software collects what a customer is willing to type into a form or record on camera, and displays it in a widget. StoryVoice interviews the customer for five minutes and writes the case study, so what you get is a story with a number and a quote rather than a line on a wall. The six collection tools below start free and end at $463 a month.

Why the category is two jobs wearing one name

The tools sold as testimonial software do one job: collect and display. A customer receives a form or a recording link, submits a paragraph or a clip, and the tool renders it on a wall of love or an embeddable widget. Senja, Testimonial.to, Famewall and Trustmary are built around the wall; Boast and Vocal Video are built around the recording. What none of them does is ask the customer a second question. Whatever the customer typed in the first thirty seconds is the testimonial.

That works for a strip of short quotes on a landing page. It does not produce the thing a B2B buyer asks a sales rep for, which is the full account of what one customer did and what changed, with a figure in it. That is a different job, and the tools that do it are compared in our case study software comparison. This page covers the collection category, with pricing read from every vendor's public page on 6 September 2026 and G2 review counts read the same day.

What we compared it on

  1. What it collects. Typed text, recorded video, imported reviews, or a conversation.
  2. What you get out. A widget, a video file, or a written story.
  3. Free tier. What you can do before paying, and where the cap sits.
  4. Paid entry price. The lowest published paid plan.
  5. External validation. G2 rating and review count where a listing exists.

1. StoryVoice: the interview, then the story

In one sentence. StoryVoice replaces the form with a five-minute AI voice interview and writes the case study, quote and social posts from what the customer said.

How it works. You send the customer a link. They talk to the AI interviewer on their own time; it follows up on each answer, asks for the specific moment, and stops when the story is covered. The transcript stays close to verbatim, the headline result is computed from the before-and-after the customer stated, and the finished story goes back to the customer for approval by link, with no account to create.

Pricing. $49/mo Starter, $99/mo Growth, $249/mo Agency, or $35, $69 and $175/mo on annual billing. The first case study is free with no credit card.

What it does.

  • Adaptive follow-up questions, which is where the number and the anecdote come from
  • Written case study plus pull quote, LinkedIn post, X post and sales email from one interview
  • Customer sign-off by link, metric cards that cite the passage of the recording they came from
  • Hosted story page and embed code; white-label output on paid plans

What's missing.

  • No wall of love or review-import widget; it is not a display tool
  • No video; the output is text by design
  • One customer at a time, not a bulk collection form

Best for: B2B teams whose buyers read proof: a case study for the website, a quote for the deck, a story for the sales email.

Skip if: you want a strip of one-line quotes on a landing page and nothing longer.

2. Senja: the wall, with the widest import list

In one sentence. Senja collects text and video testimonials through a form, imports existing praise from 18 sources, and displays it in walls, widgets and reels.

How it works. Share a collection form or import reviews from other platforms into one inbox, then publish to a wall of love or an embeddable widget. Every plan lists case study generation from a submitted testimonial; the paid tiers add custom branding, custom domains, Zapier, an API and translation.

Pricing. Free ($0: 15 testimonials, 1 form, unlimited widgets); Starter $29/mo (unlimited testimonials, 3 forms, 1 project, 2 seats); Pro $59/mo (unlimited forms, 5 projects, 5 seats, rich snippets, translation in 20 languages, extra projects $10 and seats $5 each).

What it does.

  • Review import from G2, Capterra, social and other sources into one place
  • Walls, widgets, reels and a reward wheel for collection
  • Case study generation from whatever the customer submitted

What's missing.

  • No interviewer and no follow-up; the case study is built from the form text, however short
  • Nothing computes a result; if the customer did not type a number there is none
  • The output is a widget, not a document a rep can send

G2: 4.6/5 (22 reviews).

Best for: a testimonial wall on a landing page where a short quote is enough.

Skip if: the proof needs to hold up in a sales conversation.

3. Testimonial.to: collection first, case studies behind the top tier

In one sentence. Testimonial.to collects text and video testimonials into a space, displays them on a Wall of Love, and gates case study collection and its AI case study generator to the $95-per-space Ultimate+ plan.

How it works. Each brand gets a space with a collection page; submissions land on the wall and in widgets, and existing praise can be imported from X, LinkedIn, G2 and Google. Video is capped at two on the free and Starter plans, and the case study feature is a fixed question form on the top tier.

Pricing. Free (1 space, 2 video, 10 text); Starter $25/mo or $300/yr (unlimited text, 2 video, 1 seat); Ultimate $50 per space/mo or $600/yr (unlimited video, 5 account seats plus 3 per space); Ultimate+ $95 per space/mo or $1,140/yr (unlimited seats, case study collection, AI case study generator); Enterprise custom (SSO, SOC 2 Type II).

What it does.

  • Import of existing praise from social and review sites
  • Wall of Love and widgets per space
  • A case study form and generator on the Ultimate+ tier

What's missing.

  • The case study is a form with fixed questions and no adaptive follow-up
  • Per-space pricing multiplies with every brand or client
  • Written output is gated to the most expensive plan

G2: 4.2/5 (13 reviews).

Best for: a single brand that wants a wall and widgets, with video collection on the higher tiers.

Skip if: case studies are the point; you would pay $95 a month for a form.

Skip the writing entirely. StoryVoice interviews your customer with voice AI for 5 minutes, then writes the publish-ready case study for you — real quotes, hard metrics, and all.

4. Famewall: the lowest paid tier in the set

In one sentence. Famewall collects text, video and audio testimonials through collection pages and publishes them to walls, with paid plans from $12 a month.

How it works. Create a collection page, share it, and publish submissions to a wall or widget. The tiers are defined by how many walls, collection pages and video or audio testimonials you can hold; the Agency tier adds client workspaces.

Pricing. Free (10 testimonials, 1 wall, 1 collection page, 1 video, 1 audio); Standard $12/mo or $149/yr (unlimited testimonials, 4 walls, 6 video); Professional $25/mo or $299/yr (15 walls, unlimited video and audio); Business $80/mo or $959/yr (unlimited walls and pages); Agency $125/mo or $1,499/yr (unlimited client workspaces and team members).

What it does.

  • Text, video and audio collection in one form
  • Walls and widgets, scaled by count per tier
  • An agency tier with per-client workspaces

What's missing.

  • No case study feature of any kind
  • One review on G2, so there is almost no external record of how it performs
  • Nothing happens between the customer's submission and the wall

G2: 1 review.

Best for: a small site that wants a wall for the least money.

Skip if: you need any written story longer than the form field.

5. Boast: video forms and request sequences

In one sentence. Boast collects testimonials through forms with video fields, sends automated request sequences, and meters plans by responses per month or per year.

How it works. Build a form with text and video fields, send it directly or through a sequence, and manage the responses, contacts and landing pages inside the tool. The tiers raise the response allowance, the number of forms and video fields, and the video resolution and length.

Pricing. Monthly: Basic $59 (50 responses/month), Team $119 (150), Premium $249 (500). Annual: Basic $50/mo (600 responses/year, 5 forms, 1 video field per form, 720p, 5-minute clips), Team $100/mo (1,800/year, 20 forms, 5 video fields, 1080p, 10 minutes), Premium $208/mo (6,000/year, 50 forms, 10 video fields, 4K, 15 minutes). 14-day trial, no card. Enterprise custom.

What it does.

  • Automated request sequences and contact management
  • Video capture with editing, landing pages, Zapier
  • Multi-location support for franchises and agencies

What's missing.

  • Response metering means every submission counts against a cap
  • The form asks fixed questions; nothing follows up
  • One review on G2; no written case study output

G2: 1 review.

Best for: multi-location businesses collecting a steady volume of video and text reviews.

Skip if: you need a dozen deep stories, not six hundred short ones.

6. Vocal Video: the video product

In one sentence. Vocal Video sends customers a recording link, guides them through the clip on any device, and returns an edited, branded testimonial video.

How it works. Launch a project from a template, share the link, and the customer records in the browser with no download; the platform assembles the footage into a multi-scene video with subtitles, motion graphics and your branding. The homepage claims 25,000+ companies.

Pricing. Free (5 videos, watermarked, 720p); Essential $99/mo, Pro $149/mo, Scale $249/mo, billed annually up front, as verified for our case study software comparison on 29 August 2026 (on 6 September the pricing page served its homepage to our check, so the tiers were not re-read that day).

What it does.

  • Remote video capture with guided prompts
  • Automatic editing into branded videos
  • Embeds and sharing for the finished clips

What's missing.

  • Video only; there is no written story, so nothing is searchable or pasteable into an email
  • The customer has to perform to camera, which is the step most B2B customers decline
  • Priced annually up front

G2: 4.8/5 (24 reviews).

Best for: teams that will actually use video clips on a page or in a feed, and whose customers will record one.

Skip if: the proof needs to be read, forwarded or quoted; our voice-first alternative to video covers that trade-off in detail.

7. Trustmary: reviews and widgets, metered by views

In one sentence. Trustmary collects reviews and testimonials through forms and imports, displays them in widgets, and prices its plans by widget views, review sources, responses and requests.

How it works. Sign up free, connect review sources or send collection forms, and publish widgets to your site. The plans on the pricing page are Solo, Starter and Business, each expanding the metered allowances, with paid add-ons for more views, sources, responses and requests billed annually.

Pricing. Solo $26/mo; Starter $203/mo; Business $463/mo, as listed on 6 September 2026, plus annual-billed add-ons.

What it does.

  • Review and testimonial collection in one inbox
  • Widgets for walls and social proof on site pages
  • Metered add-ons instead of hard tier jumps

What's missing.

  • The steepest jump in the category between the first and second tier
  • The output is a widget; no story, no document, no number computed
  • Twelve reviews on G2

G2: 4.6/5 (12 reviews).

Best for: a site that wants review widgets and is happy to pay by views.

Skip if: your traffic is high and your proof needs are small; the meter runs on views, not on stories.

When to pick which

  • A wall of short quotes for a landing page, cheaply? Famewall at $12 a month, or Senja's free tier if 15 testimonials is enough.
  • Import every review you already have into one place? Senja or Testimonial.to.
  • Video clips your customers will actually record? Vocal Video, or Boast if you also need request sequences.
  • Review widgets metered by traffic? Trustmary.
  • A written case study with a number and a quote, from a customer who will talk but not type? StoryVoice. The interview is the product.

What this category tells you about itself

1. Almost nobody reviews it. The six collection tools have 22, 13, 12, 24, 1 and 1 reviews on G2. Buyers cannot rely on the review sites to pick between them, which is why every vendor leads with a free tier: the trial is the review. Try the free plan, submit a testimonial to yourself, and look at what came out.

2. The case study feature is a longer form. Where a collection tool offers case studies at all, it is a fixed set of questions the customer fills in, gated to a top tier in Testimonial.to's case. A form cannot ask why, cannot ask for the moment it changed, and cannot compute a result from an answer it did not get. The interview questions that produce a usable story need a follow-up to work.

3. Video is what the pricing meters. Every tier ladder in this category is a video limit: two clips until $50 a month at Testimonial.to, one clip on Famewall's free plan, video fields and resolution at Boast, the entire product at Vocal Video. Written proof is not what these tools charge for, because a form field costs nothing to store. It is also the format a buyer forwards, a rep pastes, and a search engine reads.

The honest verdict

If you are here because your site has no customer proof at all, a free tier from Senja, Testimonial.to or Famewall will get ten quotes onto a page this week, and that is better than nothing. Send the request with the testimonial release form so the wording is cleared before it goes up.

If you are here because the quotes you have are one line long and sales keeps asking for the full story, the collection tools are not going to produce it, at any tier. Run a free interview instead: your customer talks for five minutes, and the case study, the quote and the sales email come back written.

Pricing was read from each vendor's public pricing page on 2026-09-06, except Vocal Video, whose tiers were verified on 2026-08-29 for our case study software comparison. G2 ratings and review counts were read on 2026-09-06 from each product's G2 listing. Prices and limits change; verify with each vendor before purchase. Last updated 2026-09-07.

Frequently asked questions

What is testimonial software?

Testimonial software sends a customer a form or a recording link, stores what they submit, and displays it on a wall or a widget on your site. Senja, Testimonial.to, Famewall, Boast and Trustmary all work that way, with video capture as the feature that separates the tiers. StoryVoice is built for the step those tools skip: it interviews the customer for five minutes and writes the case study, so the output is a story with a number and a quote rather than a line on a widget.

What is the best testimonial software for B2B?

For B2B, where a buyer reads proof rather than glances at it, StoryVoice: the five-minute AI voice interview produces a written case study, a pull quote, a LinkedIn post, an X post and a sales email, and the customer approves it by link. Among the collection tools, Senja and Testimonial.to have the widest import and display options, and Vocal Video is the one built for video. None of the six collection tools asks the customer a follow-up question.

What is the cheapest testimonial software?

Famewall's Standard plan is the lowest paid tier in this comparison at $12 a month ($149 a year), and Senja, Testimonial.to, Famewall and Trustmary all have a free tier with a testimonial cap. StoryVoice's first case study is free with no credit card, and paid plans start at $49 a month, or $35 on annual billing.

Which testimonial tools include case studies?

Testimonial.to gates case study collection and its AI case study generator to the Ultimate+ plan at $95 per space per month; Senja lists case study generation from a submitted testimonial on every plan. Both build the case study from whatever the customer typed into a fixed form. StoryVoice's case study comes from a recorded interview that adapts to each answer, which is where the number and the anecdote come from.

Do I need video testimonials?

Only if the place you will use them is a page or a feed where a clip gets watched. Video is what every tier ladder in this category meters, from Testimonial.to's two-video cap on the free and Starter plans to Vocal Video's entire product. A written story is what a buyer forwards to a colleague, what a rep pastes into a proposal, and what search engines and answer engines can read; StoryVoice produces the written version, and is text only by design.

How is testimonial software different from case study software?

Testimonial software collects a short endorsement the customer writes or records themselves; case study software produces the full story of a result. The collection tools stop at the widget, and where they offer a case study it is a longer form. StoryVoice runs the interview and writes the story, which is the difference between a line of praise and proof with a headline figure.

Can testimonial software collect testimonials automatically?

Boast runs request sequences that email customers on a schedule, Senja auto-syncs reviews it imports from other platforms, and Trustmary meters requests as part of its plans. StoryVoice sends the interview invitation and reminders, and because the customer talks rather than types, the response is longer and more specific than a form field produces.

Do I need a release form for testimonials?

Yes, for anything you publish with a name attached, and a separate approval of the exact wording is the safer practice. A signed release covers the right to use the words; approval of the specific text covers what the customer actually said. StoryVoice builds the approval into the flow: the customer reviews the finished story by link and signs it off, or edits it, before it is published.
